Join us on at the Center on Thursday, Sept. 6, for Gefilte Talk, a panel discussion about the evolution of Jewish food. Mitchell Davis, vice president of the James Beard Foundation, will moderate a panel discussion with Elizabeth Alpern & Jeffrey Yoskowitz of the Gefilteria in Brooklyn; Zach Kutsher of Kutsher’s Tribeca; Jack Lebewohl of 2nd Ave Deli; and Israeli chef Omer Miller. These Gefilte Jedis will discuss taste, preserving culinary tradition and the adaptation of old recipes to current days. The event begins at 6pm at 15 W. 16th Street.

Following the panel, there will be a tasting of gefilte variations, both classic and new, and attendees will be asked to vote for their favorite gefilte recipe. The winning recipe will be documented in our newly created video archive of Jewish food.
