“Fascists Get the Boot!”: A Hebrew cartoon from 1943!

Today’s cartoon in Hebrew first appeared on August 6, 1943 in the
newspaper Al Hamishmar, accompanying an article about the overthrow of
Mussolini. This newspaper and others are made available online by the National
Library of Israel on the website Historical Jewish Press – עיתונות יהודית

and print copies of newspapers and other material are available at the Center
for Jewish History. Library and archive records can be found in our catalog.

produce a comic effect. Mipaām
(מִפַּעַם): Hebrew;
meaning “of long ago” or “from time”.
